Sitting and Eating

I did lunch with my Aunt Shirlene and Mom last week. I sat in a high chair! For the first time! It was really fun playing with all kinds of things right there on the table. She gave me a really good piece of buttered garlic toast, too. It was kinda messy, and I was a little stinky, but it was really good.

I'm enjoying my social time these days. I like going to coffee with Aunt Teresa and doing lunch with Aunt Pat. I think that if I continue to be so easy to take out, I'll get to keep doing it!

If you ever want to have coffee or do lunch with me, just have your people call my people and we'll set something up.

I Love Swimming!

I love swimming! I laugh and giggle and don't cry a lick! I even got dunked and came up just fine. Sam and Faye like swimming lessons, too, but they've ben doing it for a couple years, so it's old hat now. They can swim back and forth with the boards. Pretty cool.

I Sit, Therefore I Am

Big stuff goin' on, I tell ya. September 8th marked Sam and Faye's first day of school and MY six-month doctor appointment. What shall I talk about first....

Sam and Faye LOVE school. They're gone all day (get to pack a lunch and everything), they've made a bunch of friends, love their teachers (that's right, different classes) and they want to go EVERY day.

I'm all grown up. Yep. That's what my doctor said. She said I'm not a baby anymore because I can sit up and I eat all kinds of stuff and I talk a lot. And I grab and reach for everything and I'm up on all fours, pretty near crawling and I sleep a lot and ..... that's all I can think of right now. Oh! And I'm big. Sixteen pounds, twenty-six inches. I'm places on the growth chart most Hostetters have never SEEN.

Another big thing in our house these past few weeks, is my new living room. I like to call it "Lucy's Living Room." Mom and Dad got all the tv stuff out and moved the futon to the rec room and now there's this great big room for just me! Wasn't that nice of them? (At lease, I THINK it's for me....hhmmm.)

Guess what! I start swim lessons next week!! IiiiEeeeeeeeeee!!!!

My First Lu'au!!

Sam and Faye went to a HUGE birthday party at Uncle Lee's for Nattie, Lilly AND Sawyer and had tons of fun.

I, on the other hand, had to stay home. BUT I got to go to my first Lu'au! I get to hang out with some super cool people who know how to dance and sing and throw a great party. Mom and Dad's friend Pat (aka Aunt Pat), has the foundation that was celebrating its 10th anniversary. I got to come because I'm such a good kid.

The dancers are really talented and that one really scary looking guy likes to hold me and snuggle me (when he's not making that mean scary face). That's his mom behind, and Sam, Faye and I hang out with her, too.

The Fire Dancer is only fourteen! Those were really hot sticks!

That's my friend Janie holding me. I got passed all around and laughed and giggled.

See the picture with the two guys and the lady? That's my Mom and Dad! They actually know how to dress up!

Pretty Busy: I'm Pretty and I'm Busy

I can move. Yep. That's right. I can go sideways, in circles, backwards, forwards. I do the "worm" - that's where you smash your face into the ground and stick your butt up in the air and skooch forward with your feet. It makes my face dirty, though.

I also donned my first pair of tights. I had to go to a special church service, so Mom dressed me to kind of match her. Then I squealed all through the service and got passed around to friends. Super fun!

Sam Went Camping With Dad

After Faye and Mom's train trip to Portland, Dad took Sam to the Dungeness Spit to go camping. That left just us girls! We made marmalade, played and our cousin Kendal came over (more girls!). Maybe in a couple years I can go on a girl trip....or camping. I don't really know what I'm missing, so I'm happy to smile and giggle with whoever is here!

Faye Went To Portland

A couple weeks ago, Faye went to Portland with Mom and I got to stay home with Dad and Sam. It was super cool. Sam showed Dad what to do and took care of me. Dad helped, too. We had a great time. Mom and Faye had fun on the train and shopping around.
